About Morgain Bailey


Morgain Bailey is Maine-based artist who works with photography and painting. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The San Francisco Art Institute. She has shown her work in California, Washington, Massachusetts and Maine. Her studio is in Kingfield, Maine. She has been working with photography and painting since the mid-1980's and is heavily influenced by New Topographic photographers, west coast painters and contemporary art of the northeast.


Morgain's work covers a broad range of topics and styles. She works primarily with digital photography, sometimes with film. She also works with other media, including painting, printmaking and artist books. Her ideas focus on environmental and social issues including lifelong passions for identity politics, LGBTQ culture and the American landscape.
